Cookie Policy
1. About this Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Mirame, operated by Mirame Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 97 696 515 616), uses cookies and similar technologies on the Mirame website (mirame.au, mirame-style-quiz.netlify.app, and subdomains). It supplements our Privacy Policy.
2. What is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, pixels, and local beacons. We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" in this Policy.
3. Cookies We Use
3.1 Essential / Strictly Necessary (no consent required under APP 3.3)
These cookies are required for the Service to function. You cannot opt out of these while using the paid reading.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
mirame_session | Session identifier so the paid reading knows you've paid and returns you to your reading | Session or 30 days (persistent) | Mirame |
mirame_consent | Remembers whether you've accepted non-essential cookies | 12 months | Mirame |
__cf_bm / similar | Bot-protection and security, used by our hosting provider | Session | Netlify / CDN layer |
3.2 Functional
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
mirame_prefs | Remembers your last-visited palette page or tab inside the paid reading | 90 days | Mirame |
mirame_locale | Remembers language/region preferences | 12 months | Mirame |
These are set only after you proceed past the consent banner, where one is shown.
3.3 Analytics
Status at launch: None in use (we will update this policy if we add analytics) (insert "none" if analytics is not active at launch).
If analytics is active, we use None in use (we will update this policy if we add analytics) to measure aggregate usage — which pages are viewed, how many visitors we get, general geography (country level), and device type. If we use a privacy-friendly provider (e.g. Plausible, Fathom), no personal identifiers are set and no consent banner is strictly required under Australian guidance. If GA4 is used, consent will be requested via the cookie banner before loading.
- Data shared: aggregate only, no individual identification
- Retention: Not applicable — no analytics in use at launch
- Opt-out: via the cookie banner or by using browser privacy features (Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control).
3.4 Third-Party Cookies
Stripe (checkout)
- Domain:
stripe.com,js.stripe.com - Purpose: fraud prevention, session management during payment
- Lifetime: Stripe-managed, typically session to 1 year
- Controller: Stripe, Inc. — see Stripe's cookie notice at
stripe.com/cookie-settings - Set only when you initiate checkout. Essential to completing a purchase.
Commission Factory (affiliate tracking)
- Domain:
commissionfactory.comand partner tracking domains - Purpose: attribute affiliate commissions when you click a retailer link and complete a purchase
- Lifetime: 30–90 days depending on retailer
- Controller: Commission Factory Pty Ltd (Australia) and the individual retailer
- Set only when you click a tracked affiliate link.
Fonts / CDNs
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com) serves web fonts. Google may log IP addresses for rate-limiting. We will self-host or remove Google Fonts in a future release if consent friction becomes an issue.
4. Consent and Controls
- Essential cookies are set without consent, as permitted by APP 3.3 and standard Australian guidance — they are strictly necessary to deliver the service you requested.
- Non-essential cookies (analytics, functional preferences) are set only after you have been given the opportunity to consent via the cookie banner. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie settings" link in the footer (to be implemented) or clearing your browser data.
- Browser controls. Most browsers let you refuse, accept, or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies will break the paid reading. Guidance: aboutcookies.org or your browser's help pages.
5. Updates to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the tools we use. The "Last updated" date shows the current version. Material changes (e.g. adding a new analytics provider) will be surfaced in the cookie banner.
6. Contact
Cookie questions: hello@mirame.au
This is compliance tooling, not legal advice. Blake's lawyer finalises before launch.
